Philosophy & Core Values

“Helping young adults experience the love of Jesus Christ and grow in a relationship with Him.”

PHILOSOPHY

This is the season of life when we are in college, starting a career, searching for a spouse, getting married, or just longing to find purpose in life.  We believe that the decisions made during these young adult years (18-35) will have a huge and lasting impact on the rest of your life.  That is why 4th Dimension began.  It is our desire to see young adults trusting in Jesus Christ not only for salvation but also for every life decision.  It is through Christ alone that a person can find true peace and clarity in decision-making, and ultimately, everlasting fulfillment in life.  We want to see young adults enjoying abundant life in Jesus Christ.

We have found through experience that young adults are highly relational.  It is therefore our philosophy that spiritual growth happens best in the context and environment of relationships with our peers.  We strive to create an atmosphere that encourages healthy relationships with other young adults, with the belief that we grow closer to God better in the context of relationships.  After all, it was God who said “It is not good for the man to be alone” and that “Iron sharpens iron.”  In Fourth Dimension we aim to give young adults opportunities to connect with other young adults who can encourage them in their own connection and relationship with God.  The best starting point for you to connect with Fourth Dimension is at 4D Sundays.

CORE VALUES

At Fourth Dimension we desire to honor Jesus Christ, we are committed to the divine inspiration, accuracy, inerrancy, integrity, trustworthiness, truth, relevance and authority of the Scriptures. And we are dependent upon the enabling power of the Holy Spirit to understand and apply them.  The Bible is the basis for our ministry.  Below are listed our core values here are 4D:

1.      The starting point of our ministry is God - not human activity.  God desires for all to know him.

“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.”  1 Cor. 3:6

“This is good, and pleases God our savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”  1 Tim. 2:3-4

2.     The guide for our ministry is the Bible - not human wisdom.

“‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways your ways,’ declares the Lord.  ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.  As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.’”  Isaiah 55:8-11

3.     The focus of our ministry is people not programs.

“We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.”  1 Thessalonians 2:8

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  John 3:16

4.     The goal of our ministry is that everyone be a growing Christian – not just a believer.

“We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.  To this end I labor, struggling with all His energy, which so powerfully works in me.”  Colossians 1:28-29

5.     The environment for our ministry is teamwork (the body working together – not

people working individually).

“Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.  We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.  If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.  If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.”  Romans 12:4-8

6.  The process of our ministry is spiritual reproduction – not only spiritual addition.

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.”  2 Timothy 2:2

MISSION of Glad Tidings Assembly of God

The Church is the Body of Christ - the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the Church. (Ephesians 1:22-23, 2:22 and Romans 12:4-5)

Since God's purpose concerning man is to be worshipped by man, to build a body of believers in the image of His Son, and to seek and to save the lost, the priority reason-for-being of Glad Tidings Assembly of God is to be a "G.R.E.A.T." church.

Growing by evangelizing our community and the world through outreach, church planting, and mission endeavors. (Acts 1:8)

Reproducing through small groups that are focused on discipleship, fellowship, and prayer. (II Timothy 2:2; Acts 2:44-47)

Equipping and assimilating believers for ministry and service. (Ephesians 4:11-13)

Allowing for dynamic worship and the free moving of God's Spirit. (Psalm 95:6,7)

Teaching and preaching God's Word. (Matthew 28:19,20)
