Social Media Manager

The Social Media Manager will create and refine communication on our social media platforms, including GT Live. The goal of this part-time position is to elevate the level of communication among the congregation and the community. The Social Media Manager will be responsible for leading volunteers and collaborating on strategies to ensure that all key audiences are aware of and engage with the ministries and services of the church.


  • Manage content and scheduling on all social media platforms. Create written and visual content that:
    • Prompts spiritual practice
    • Engages the audience in the story of Jesus
    • Communicates the culture of GT Church
  • Collaborate with staff teams on social media vision and needs for their departments, including any campaigns that may be needed
  • Use current creative resources, such as video and photography, in a way that represents the values and culture of GT Church
  • Identify strategy and implement resources on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and others as needed
  • Recruit, develop, and lead the GT photography volunteer team

  • Oversee the execution of GT Live / Church Online and lead GT Live volunteer team


  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, adapting content to match the medium through which it is being communicated
  • Strategic and energetic, with a passion for the church to be concise, clear, and creative in its communications
  • An eye for good design and an awareness of current creative, communications, and technological trends
  • Proven team-builder who is passionate about recruiting and training volunteer leaders
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Experience with photography/videography, including editing
  • Relevant experience in communications or digital media management
  • Familiarity in Adobe Design Suite is a plus
  • Part-time hours are Sunday through Thursday. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be needed for events.
