Today, 42% of the world is still unreached. Among the estimated 7000 unreached ethnic groups 2000 are unengaged. Africa alone has over 415 unengaged ethnic groups.
God's Perspective on the Lost
Genesis 1:26
The image of God has been stamped on everyone.
Three truths at the core of why we do missions:
- All people matter to God.
-Lost people are not our enemy. Our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the powers of darkness holding them captive.
-
All people can respond to the gospel.-The church's success in evangelism is measured not by people's response, but by giving people the opportunity to respond.
-
All people have a divine purpose.
God's Perspective on Resources
John 6:1-15
A. Don't let large opportunities intimidate you.
-On the Day of Pentecost there were only 120 Spirit-filled disciples reaching a world of about 250 million people.
B. Don't let small resources discourage you.
2 Corinthians 12:9a
-"My grace is sufficient_ for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
-Satan's tactic is to maximize the difficulty and minimize our view of the resources we already have.
