Worship Through Generosity

We believe giving is an act of worship. By giving out of gratitude, we acknowledge that everything we possess is a gift from God. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully”. 2 Corinthians 9:7 NLT

It is important to understand that all types of online giving require a small fee for each transaction when processing. Know that your gift(s) to GT Church go further by choosing to use your bank account (ACH) and selecting the option to cover the fee.

What is Tithing?

Tithing is an important part of our obedience to God and is a principle of giving found throughout the Bible. The word “tithe” comes from the idea of a tenth, or 10%. In Malachi 3:10, we read what the Lord has to say about the tithe. This is also the only place in Scripture where God invites us to put Him to the test. By bringing Him the first fruits of what He has given us, we’re demonstrating that we trust that He will provide for us. It’s also a step of faith that we trust God to cause the remaining 90% to provide our needs. When we are obedient to God in this aspect of our lives, He promises to abundantly pour out his blessings on us! Giving to God also has a way of breaking the hold of materialism in our lives. Read more about what God’s word says about giving & tithing; Proverbs 11:24, Psalm 24:1, Mark 12:41-44, Matthew 6:33, 23:23, Proverbs 3:9-10, 2 Corinthians 9:6-11, Luke 12:34

Tithe or Offering?

At GT Church, we utilize a two-fund giving system. All tithes are received into our General Fund. These funds are used to pay for our building, utilities, church staffing, and all ministry efforts inside the walls of the church. Additionally, in the same way that we give a tithe personally, the church gives a 10% tithe of the general fund income to support missions. Project Impact is our fund for all offerings (which is giving above and beyond the tithe). These funds are used to provide resources that help us accelerate the gospel further and faster through the support of global projects, church expansion, and local outreach. Each year, we prayerfully seek God’s direction for how He wants GT Church to make an impact in His Kingdom and invest our financial efforts accordingly.
